The headquarters of the Australian Hotels Association Victoria required an update to their in-house bar used for corporate functions and training. Composed of a variety of native Australian woods the bar counter wraps the window through to the beer taps to emphasise the utilitarian nature of its purpose. The project included new light fixtures, finishes and furniture for two adjoining function rooms.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead concept design

  • Specify all new fixtures and finishes

  • Produce detailed drawings

  • Respond to millwork questions

Design

Used intensively for professional training the main requirement for the design was for the bar to cater for a number of staff at any one time and reveal the inner working where possible, while also remaining attractive when catering for corporate events.

As a national organisation, local materials were used.
